Dependable, Functional, Better than the alternatives.I've tried different brands of these timers (DO NOT BUY INTERMATIC), and this one has worked the best for me.
By worked the best, I mean didn't fail and did what it is supposed to do. I'm giving it five stars, because apparently in the world of these little electronic timers, that's a high bar.
There just aren't that many choices if you want a little electric timers. After having several Intermatic's repeatedly forgetting the programming, I found this Aube. It's been running without a hitch for more than two years. I just ordered a couple more for rental properties.
Two Criticisms:
Tiny Tiny Print: You're going to have to get up close and personal to read the display for programming. It'd be nice if they would put a bigger LCD on the thing.
(And there's really no excuse for the microscopic printed instructions. Some things you can buy and never look at the instructions. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS. I mean, my toaster came with more legible instructions and who reads instructions for a toaster?
Not a very well calibrated clock. The actual clock seems to lose about 10 minutes a year, which is just sloppy calibration. Any quartz timer can be calibrated to stay within seconds a year.
But the fact that it actually works is enough to get it 5 stars in this category.

Useful-but not near oily thingsStill sticking. I had used these in my old place,too. They are easy to remove, and do not damage the surface. The loop holders can brake if they are exposed to too much force. Forces like being walked on a lot(took me 2yrs.), but even then they can still hold in place.
The only time I have had problems with the 3m Command Cord Organizers not adhering to a surface is in my kitchen (On oily Formica/oily paint-cleaning could not remove all the old tenant's worth of oil). When these pads do not stick, they really just do not stick at all! I pulled out my magic eraser, removed some paint layers with lots of oil. Then the cable holders seemed to semi-stick to my kitchen walls.
If I wanted the normal strength stick I'm use to, I'd buy new adhesive pads and try fresh. So, watch out for cooking oil! Other wise, I've bought these cable holders more then once, and will look for them again when I move to a new place.
