Repeated false alarms!I've purchased several PS-434A Motion Sensors to expand my SC-1000 system, but unfortunately I found that repeated false alarms made these sensors virtually useless. Doesn't matter where you put the sensors in your house (high or low sensitivity) sooner or later you'll get a false alarm. Currently I'm keeping them inside of closets. I guess if burglars get into my house the closets are the first places where they will be looking for valuables.
I also found that PS-434A Motion Sensors working as advertised only in "Delay Mode". When the sensors are in "Instant Mode" they are only able to set off audio alarm at Control Panel SC-001, but AD-433S Emergency Dialer is not dialing (!?!).
Just to be sure that nothing was wrong with my Control Panel or Emergency Dialer I also tested WT-433 Window/Door Sensors. They've worked in Delay and Instant Mode without any problems.

Great ProductI've had to use a respirator at work numerous times before and was initially a bit apprehensive buying this one for personal use. It only came in a one-size-fits-all. However, it fit perfectly and is relatively comfortable to wear. Even after several hours of work with the respirator on, and my face turning sweaty and greasy in the process, it still does a good job protecting my lungs (as evidenced from a breathe-in test while covering the cartridges). The bridge of my nose doesn't turn sore, as it used to be the case wearing a different brand of half-face respirator with combination cartridges.
I exclusively use the respirator for dust protection, and I believe the investment (it's actually one of the less expensive ones I came across) is well worth my health in the long run.

Handy, convienent, dont throw away your Leatherman yet.I have only had this for a few weeks but have tried to put it to the test. The little flashlight is handy but not quite what I would consider bright, the magnet feature is really handy for holding a few loose screws. The screwdriver inserts seem to be of high quality. I have not tried the wrench yet, but the size range seems limiting (Mountain biking, great), more on that later. The knife blade seems to be fairly high quality.
This is not a tool box. It is small, handy, light, convienent and has some great features. The wrench feature seems limiting, would have nice up to 5/8". No pliers, but that is the point. Small. clip in on your belt, backpack, whatever you carry with you. At some point you will say to someone, "Here, use this.".

Excellent Product so far!I purchased these and was replacing ones that I previous had in there, because I was moving several hours away from my current house and didn't want to try and travel with a full Aerogarden. Every single seed has germinated and the plants look really healthy, they are starting to get flowers on them now, the only negative that we see is that we also use Cilantro in our salsa mix and if this had a Cilantro section that we could use would make it 10X better.

The makers of the Attack Wave are making many claims concerning its effectiveness - it's supposed to annoy mince, rats, cockroaches, fleas, crickets, ants to the point of them leaving your house, never to return. This may or may not be true but, since I haven't seen any study claiming that both rats and ants can't stand 30,000-65,000 Hz ultrasounds, I can only share my own experience with the device and this is what I can report:
After placing the unit in my basement, sitting on a table from which there was 'line of sight' and, I assume, 'sound' to every corner, I did not notice mouse activity. We have, or maybe it's fair to say that 'we had' a few field mice coming to our basement in the winter and I could occasionally find droppings and some allowed themselves to get trapped - ahh... the smell of peanut butter... After about one month of Attack Wave in the basement there are no more mouse signs. Coincidence? I don't know but I'm writing this review in February and it's still cold outside so, if the mice left, I doubt they did it because they preferred the outdoors life.
SPECS AND OPERATION
As the Amazon picture shows, the Wave is a little white contraption with 2 speakers, powered through a DC adapter. It starts working - making an ultrasonic racket, that is - as soon as it's plugged in. The makers claim that constantly changing the pitch and intensity of the ultrasound is what makes their device so special, because the pests can never get used to it and, after a while, they just can't take it and flee. You can't hear the ultrasound, of course, but the Wave comes with a little red button which, when pushed, has the Wave produce a high pitch whistling sound that's supposed to be an approximation of what the ants would hear when near it, that is IF the ants can actually hear.
The instructions page that comes with the product is very carefully to state that the Wave is effective in an area of 4,000-5,000 ft. of UNOBSTRUCTED space so placement is important and be aware of blind spots. In addition, placing the Wave on a carpet or on any other soft base is likely to reduce its effectiveness as the sound will be muffled.
More specs:
- 260 degrees - Effective angle (blind spots, remember?)
- 1.5 W power consumption - should tell you something about how loud that speaker really is (not so loud)
- 30-65 KHz frequency
- 110 dB sound pressure
- 4,000-5,000 sq. ft. effective range (no obstructions, not on carpets)
You are not supposed to use this near gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs or other rodent pets and you are not supposed to keep it near your ear when you press the red test button.
MY RATING
Since I haven't notice mice activity in my basement ever since I turned the Wave on, it's possible that it's making a difference. Time will tell and, if see mice again, I will update my review to state so. Until then, I'm awarding the Wave 4 stars for it POSSIBLY being an effective mice repellent but... scaring ants away? I don't buy that.
