Very Useful Kitchen Tool

Great masher

This is a sturdy masher. I have used it for applesauce and potatoes as well as egg salad. I just half the eggs and the masher does the right job making a nice salad. Easy to clean.

For my husbands and I's first Christmas I asked for a potato masher. He got this exact one and I can say that I've used it once a week for 10 years and its still perfect. The handle is just fine and it never rusted or anything. I love all the Oxo products, they really do last years and years. I've bought other companies products for the kitchen and they fall apart, is I specifically look for Oxo Good Grips whenever I go get a kitchen gadget because I know it will last for years. One tip, after you mash the potatoes rinse off the potato from the masher because once that potato dries it takes alot of work to remove.

Very nice!

Very nice! This food mill did a splendid job on my first two uses, to make a homemade tomato sauce, and to create a very smooth vichyssoise. Although the "bowl" is fairly light, I found it was completely sturdy. Very intelligently designed.

not as described

the product description includes "seamless construction for easy cleaning" -- this is false. At the Y of the handle, the two branches come together into a tight seam that runs up to the handle.

other than that - pretty lightweight little mashes but I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on functionality.

Many uses

I bought this masher to use for making apple sauce. I liked that it had larger holes to allow for a chunkier applesauce and that it was nylon for use on my coated pans. My only negative is that it can be hard to clean.

a disappointment

I've had the product for more than two years and have only used it twice. It is VERY small. The handles hurt my hands. Only a small portion can be squeezed through at a time. I don't plan to use it again. Sure would love to have my money back.

Mash Away!

This masher is so cool! It mashes food with such ease (as opposed to my previous masher, which did the job but with much effort) and also the food slides off the masher soo easily. Haven't owned it for too long, but so far it's been worth it.
