Exactly what I wanted.I installed this on my 1962 Chevrolet C10 and it was a snap. It does what it says and does it very well! The motion sensor is great because you can adjust how sensitive it is for each function. The LED for inside the cab looks cool while its gives notice that this baby is off limits. The remote or key fob looks classy in chrome and black and works well from even farther distances i.e. walking away from your truck or car and arming. I would surely promote this to friends and family.

Installing a remote start...not that hard.I installed this remote start into a 1994 GMC 3500 dump truck. The truck originally had no power door locks or windows and I recently installed a power door lock system. (Which I purchased on Amazon...see my other reveiw.) The main reason I installed the remote start was for the keyless entry feature.
Although this installation was pretty straight foward, you need some mechanical/electrical experience. It should not be attempted by a complete novice.
The included directions and DVD were very complete and easy to understand and follow. I was able to attach the remote start to my power door lock module simply and it works great. The remote start has never failed to start the engine. Very nice to have a warm truck when parked outside in the winter.
I've been using it for about 2 months now and for the money, it can't be beat.

Installation instructions are NOT includedI bought this intending to install it myself. It does not come with any installation instructions at all. The quick reference guide refers to the Directed Electronics website for an installation guide, but if you are not a dealer or registered installer this does not work. Their website itself will not allow you to open any of the menus unless you have a number given to you by the dealer you bought the unit from. I bought it here at Amazon, so I don't have this magic number. There are no phone numbers at all, in the box or on the DE site, when the "contact us" link is clicked on the DE site, it takes you nowhere. I called Amazon twice, even they had a hard time finding any good contact info for for Directed Electronics. (DE customer service 800-753-0600). I called DE twice, both times I sat on hold for about 20 minutes before talking to a live person. I was told by DE customer service that since I bought through Amazon, if I have it installed by a local dealer, (even a dealer listed on their website as one of their local dealers), I would not be covered by the DE warranty. Very disappointing. I think when I do get a system, it will definitely not be a DE system. I am returning this one to Amazon.
