GREAT FOR THE PRICEBought this in January 2010 and haven't travelled enough to use it till recently. I really don't speed, but I like to have it for those moments when you aren't watching your speed and it is a reminder to slow down. It works just great and gives plenty of warning. Came upon three highway patrolmen with radar going just today and it picked up every one in ample time to slow down. Other things I like: The blue "warning" lights on top; it doesn't sound alarms unnecessarily when near hospitals, motels, etc.; and it is small.
This is the first Cobra I have ever owned and I would buy it again. I have had other radar detectors, other brands, and this works better than they. Also my husband has a very expensive one I bought for him two Christmases ago, different brand, and this Cobra works better.
I highly recommend this. Of course I imagine the price may help my feeling of satisfaction with this Cobra, but as I said, I have had other radar detectors and this one works better; so, I don't think the price influences me. I was afraid it would be terrible since it was so inexpensive. Surprise! I think it's GREAT!

WorthlessI was really hoping that this would solve the problem I have in the winter time (detector falling off from the windshield) but unfortunately it turned out to be a piece of junk. I agree with one of the previous reviewers that this can leave a permanent mark on your visor. It also eliminates the detection of laser (at least laser coming from behind since the sensor is usually on top of the detector). I saw a radar detector mount that you place on your dash, perhaps that works better?

Just buy it- BEST dealNo long review here, just going to say for the current price this is the best deal there is right now on a quality RD. The thing works great, seems to be very well built and has some nice features. I love the MUTE button on the smart plug, and the way the auto-mute system works is great. The things I wish it had are more controls on the smartcord (darkmode maybe?), and I wish it had a visual meter in tec mode. There still is the audio meter in tec mode so that isn't a huge problem. I CALLED BELTRONICS and the said they DO honor their warranty if bought at Amazon, but not if it is purchased through an independent merchant on Amazon. Call them yourself if you are worried about it, you'll see.

Beltronics V955 VectorOverall the Beltronics V955 is a great radar detector. The only problem with it is the weight of the item or the bracket that holds it to the window. You will need to keep it close to the dashboard. Due to it's size and weight it will pull itself off the window. If the two sucion cups were bigger to hold the weight of the item or make the dector smaller to go with the tiny bracket. If you keep it resting on the dash it will stay in place and do it's job. I used it on a trip to Florida on I-95 and it did what it was designed to do! Reccommend it, for sure. Only wish it was a little smaller and could stick to the windshield better.
