PYLE PLCM36 3.5'' Slim TFT LCD Universal Mount Monitor w/ License Plate Mount Rearview Night Vision Backup CameraI recently purchased this nightvision backup camera for my husband whose friend has a factory installed one on his 2007 Honda Pilot. He couldn't believe how easy it was to install on our 2002 Ford Focus SE Wagon. He said the most difficult part of the installation was the temporary removal of this car"s inside trim and molding, and it really wasn't that hard to do. This was necessary to run and hide the video cable from the camera mounted on the trunk lid to the LCD screen mounted on the dash. The LCD screen ONLY comes on when the car is shifted into "REVERSE" and he still can't believe the clarity, especially at night. It's so easy now to hook-up to anything he has to trailer. It's a one person chore that's really no chore at all now. Thank you so much for such a wonderful, affordable and easy to install nightvision backup camera.

Works well, but a tough install.Got this for our minivan, since we were worried about backing over kids in the blind spot right behind the bumper. The monitor/mirror is big, bigger than I thought it would be looking at the picture, but it was ok in our vehicle. The camera installed on the license plate. The difficulty with the installation is running all the wires. I tapped into the brake lights to power on the monitor automatically when in reverse. I ran power from the cigarette lighter to the camera and monitor, and I can turn on the monitor and see the image from the camera at any time the car is on. You can also install another video source, but not sure that's a good idea to have a video playing on your rear-view mirror... The included instructions are nearly worthless (actually label wires the wrong color), so the installer mostly needs to use trial and error. Works great now, just how I hoped, but would have reservations recommending to anybody who isn't either experienced in custom installation or gutsy enough to try it.

crapHorrible camera. Tried two of these. First one didn't work at all, returned to Amazon for replacement. Replacement worked great for a day, then worked every other day, and after a couple weeks not at all. Not sure if it is a camera issue, or the monitor, but I won't be trying this brand ever again.

Camera works great, easy to use easy to installI bought the cheap Pyle backup camera and monitor kit, but didn't want to cut a hole in the back of my RV to mount it. So I bought this camera as well and surface mounted it between the bumper and spare tire to the rear wall of the RV. It was quick and easy to install I dropped the cables down to the receiver tube and tied the power and ground into the running lights instead of the backup lights, that way all I have to do is turn on the headlights or running lights and the camera is on. The 20' RCA video cable is too short for any vehicle that is big enough to warrant a backup camera in my opinion. Since I had 2 of them I bought a coupler and patched them together and to mu surprise I only had about 5 extra feet. The video quality is a very good during the day but it is a little grainy and has horizontal lines through the picture at night. It works for backing into an RV spot at night and is awesome for backing my boat in during the day. I can even rotate it down so I can see the hitch and it makes hooking up a breeze. I might like a better monitor and probably a better video cable but I don't have any complaints about the camera.
