Just bought as spareI hate to get stuck when doing some work, just because some part goes wonky, so I tend to buy spares and squirrel them away in the garage for when I'll need them later.
That's what I did with this part.
My experience with Black and Decker has been that they make decent items, but are always changing, shapes/specs/colors of the equipment to increase sales. As a result, you can have a perfectly good piece of equipment, but can't use it, because one little piece is no longer available after a few years when the model has been "updated".
For example, I bought one of their cordless mowers more than 10 years ago and got an extra blade at the time. Good thing I did that, as B&D no longer supplies replacement blades for this mower. Ditto, for the grass catcher for this mower, which they no longer have parts for ...they'd rather sell you one of their new and improved models for hundreds of dollars than sell you a $15 grass catcher.

B&D replacement capeasy to install and it works just fine. If you do a lot of wacking around asphalt or concrete, order two because it will wear out again.
