Pretty nice design, but not for puppies or chewersThis is a nicely designed dog bed that fits perfectly into our Midwest dog bed (we have the double door model Midwest Life Stages Double-Door Folding Metal Dog Crate, 36"L x 24"W x 27"H and the matching 30" dog bed). We divided up the crate and placed the bed under the divider, and while there, the pad is thick enough to seal off the gap between the bottom of that divider and the bottom of the cage. He loves sitting his head on the bumpers on the side, and cuddling in the bed.
However, this seems to have a LOT of fuzzies coming off of it, in big clumps. This is really problematic for us, since our dog is a puppy and can be really quickly harmed by eating this (which, of course, he wants to do immediately upon seeing it). Frankly, it's a health issue for ANY dog to eat material like this (especially since it's polyester), so the big fuzzies aren't just a looks issue. We've only washed it three times, in gentle cycle, since we got it, so this isn't what I expected for regular wear and tear. And he's only 7 lbs, so he's not shaking this thing or putting it through the major puppy destruction mode.
In all, I'd recommend you skip this one if you have a dog that likes to chew or a small puppy that can't keep his mouth off of anything. If you have an older dog that won't chew too vociferously, or can keep an eye on your dog while using this, it's not terrible.
Good enough for the priceI bought this for a crate for my greyhound. When I first got it I was pleased, but after using it for about a month, it has flattened considerably and has shed a lot of fleece on my carpet. I guess you get what you pay for.
great dog bedMy large Pembroke Welsh Corgi took to this bed right away. He loves the soft fleece and bolsters on which he rests his head. It's lightweight and very portable.
Do they make these in human size? :)I just received this bed in the mail, and I have to say I'm very impressed.
Based on the Amazon.com photos, I knew that this bed would be super comfy for our medium sized Vizsla.
To the touch it's very soft and inviting. I especially like the elevated, rounded edges for our pup to rest her head on.
A bonus to this already good buy is the fact that it perfectly fits into the Midwest 42x28x31 Life Stages Double Door Crate.
So, you can use it as a bed alone or you can slide it onto the floor of the crate and make it so much more inviting and cozy.
Overall - I'm very pleased with this purchase and waiting for the human size edition ;)
Dog MagnetMy two dogs, a golden retriever and a black lab mix, love these pet beds. They were using two ugly sofa cushions that I finally decided had to go. It did not take long for my dogs to become attached to the beds and it is rare that a moment goes by without one using them. The 42x26 size is large enough for them to lay flat without hanging out.
