tell me who actually likes cleaning a litter box?!Okay, so I'm not into cleaning the litter box. Why not let electricity do it for you!!! So far this particular product is doing its job. My neighbor purchased 3 different versions of the LitterMaid automatic boxes only to return all of them. She didn't buy the "Mega" version and had so many quality control issues ( with the more expensive LitterMaid Elite, Ultra and Mega Elite?). Like I said, so far so good. I hate cleaning the litter box.
LitterMaid Mega 900I initially purchased one of the new Littermaid Elite LitterBoxes from PetCo and was ready for a wonderful experience (since the previous one I had owned worked so well...and died after 7 years of hard use). It was awful! The metal tines were useless in getting the "poop" into the container.
I returned it to PetCo (they were very gracious and gave me no problems at all). I decided I wanted one just like my old one...with the plastic tines that were much closer together. I found this one on Amazon. It works wonderfully and is very reliable. Sadly...there are still "pick up" issues with small poops, which never seemed to be a problem in the past...but overall...I give this a 3+ stars. I would have rated it higher...but the replacement of the trays is very difficult and the lid is impossible to put in place. I also find there is "still" a great deal of spillage from the litter underneath the litterbox, which baffles me. I'd like to see that area somehow closed off, so my floor doesn't end up with a mound of litter under the device. However...the price is well worth he overall product value and I am happier with a less fancy version than the stealth model I initially purchased.
Littermaid Self cleaning cat boxI love the self-cleaning cat box. I have two cats, but unfortunately only one of them will use the box. When he does,its wonderful. However the other cat won't use it !!! Im going to try a new litter that has some herbs in it to attract them, a co-worker had the same problem and this worked for her. But when it's being used, its a great purchase.
Great product, big enough for multiple cats to usethis is the second one we bought. Our cats doesnot like to share litter. I bought the other one at Target, but the container was too small, and the cats ended up pooping on the rim and messy all over. But this one is great.
